Hung Over, Barely Hanging On

Situation to be avoided in the future: Being thoroughly hung over first day at a new job. Especially when this job requires constant social interaction, handling of money and a steady enough hand to pour fluids into glasses of various sizes.

Alcohol induced angst is not very conductive to being jovial. A bartender is supposed to talk to the customers, be outgoing and lively. Standing in a corner trembling slightly and mumbling does not make you particularly approachable.

The customers ended up being my psychologists instead of the other way around.
